DNB Knokke

"A dialogue between architecture, material and the sea."

For our project DNB Knokke, Collett & Victor collaborated with architect Britt Van Namen to provide seating furniture for two apartments overlooking the North Sea. Each interior has its own atmosphere, shaped by natural materials, tactile finishes and carefully considered design.

Across both apartments, the architecture creates a strong connection with the sea outside. Our seating pieces were designed to complement this setting, bringing softness, comfort and character through carefully selected upholstery and refined craftsmanship, while allowing the architecture and the view to remain central.

A quiet dialogue with the sea

With its soft, tonal palette and restrained materiality, the first apartment is shaped around a sense of calm. Warm neutrals, textured surfaces and natural materials create a quiet interior, while the expansive glazing keeps the North Sea ever present.

For the living space, the Felix sofa brings a generous and relaxed presence. Upholstered in a soft pink tone, it adds a subtle touch of warmth and colour to the muted palette, while its ample proportions create a comfortable place to take in the changing light and views.

The Bob poufs, also upholstered in the same pink tone, add a rounded counterpoint to the architecture. Their compact form brings flexibility to the seating arrangement, while their soft silhouette echoes the gentle curves found throughout the interior.

Together, the pieces settle naturally into the interior — soft, tactile and understated.

Framed by the horizon

The second apartment takes a deeper, more expressive approach. Weathered wood, warm textiles and darker tones create a richer atmosphere, while the generous glazing opens the living spaces towards the sea.

The Elly sofa introduces a layer of softness through its rounded lines and enveloping proportions. Upholstered in bouclé, its tactile surface adds warmth and depth, complementing the richer material palette of the apartment.

At the heart of the interior, the Comporta sofa follows the architecture with its generous curves and informal, flowing composition. Upholstered in a deep burgundy tone and finished with a contrasting welt, it adds an extra layer of definition and character. Its sculptural silhouette creates an inviting setting without interrupting the view.

Here, the furniture becomes part of the architecture — balancing strong materials with softer forms and creating spaces that feel both composed and lived in.
