A warm welcome before take-off at Flanders International Airport

Flanders International Airport, Wevelgem, Belgium

For the airport lounge of Flanders International Airport in Wevelgem, Collett & Victor collaborated with interior architect Hélène Van Marcke to provide the seating furniture. The result is a calm, elegant space where travellers can settle in before or after their flight.

A warm welcome before take-off.

Just a few kilometres from our showroom in Kortrijk, the airport welcomes business and private aviation travellers from across Europe and beyond. Hélène Van Marcke envisioned the lounge not as a waiting area but as a refined living room. Set behind a curved glass façade overlooking the runway, the space is calm and filled with light, softened by lush greenery, warm wood and tactile textures. Our seating pieces were chosen to support that atmosphere, bringing comfort, warmth and character through carefully selected upholstery and refined craftsmanship.

A seat that follows the curve

At the heart of the lounge, three made-to-measure benches come together in one sweeping, sculptural seat. Its flowing lines wrap around the planters and echo the rounded architecture of the space. Upholstered in a soft fabric in a grey tone, the benches offer generous seating with an open view of the runway. Resting on a recessed base, the seat seems to float lightly above the floor.

Together, they form the quiet centrepiece of the lounge: generous, inviting and in constant dialogue with the architecture.

Three moods, one silhouette

Around it, nine Carlton one seaters, designed by JPDEMEYER, create more intimate seating areas. With their rounded contours and enveloping comfort, they invite guests to truly settle in, whether for a short wait or a longer conversation.

The chairs are arranged in three groups of three, each with its own upholstery: a deep green velvet, a sandy bouclé and a light woven fabric. The variation in texture and tone gives every seating area its own character, while the shared silhouette keeps the whole calm and consistent.

Between the seating areas, our Otis coffee tables add a warm, grounding counterpoint. Their round wooden tops and sculptural, rounded legs echo the soft forms of the seating, offering a natural place for a book, a magazine or a cup of coffee.

Every piece was handcrafted in our atelier in Izegem, where our artisans paid close attention to every detail, from the tension of the upholstery to the finish of each seam. For a space that welcomes guests day after day, comfort and durability matter just as much as appearance.

Here, the furniture becomes part of the journey — a quiet, comfortable pause before take-off.
